The MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System) system integrated into this helmet is the result of nearly 20 years of research and development. Its principle is simple: It mimics and takes over the function of the cerebrospinal fluid in which our brain “floats.”
In an impact, the MIPS system absorbs the impact energy by allowing the skull to slide along the inner shell. This better distributes rotational forces and prevents the brain from directly impacting the skull wall, providing better protection against angled impacts.
